GIBSON Wines

 NATURAL.  EARTH.  FLAVOUR.

Gibson's Wines is a small family owned winery nestled at the high northern end of the Barossa Valley in South Australia.  A specialist producer of limited quantities of premium table wines, it is fast garnering a reputation as a reliable producer of richly flavoured and complex wine.

Rob, Anne and family produce approximately 5000 cases of wine each year, depending on the vintage.  Fruit is sourced from predominately estate grown fruit with small selections coming from contracted grower fruit for added diversity come blending time.

Around seventy tonnes of predominately shiraz and merlot, along with small amounts of mourvedre, grenache, viognier, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot, are harvested to produce the wines.

From pruning through budburst, flowering, fruit-set, verasion, harvest, fermentation, pressing, barrel aging, blending to bottling, the whole "winegrowing" process is carefully tended to by Rob and "side-kicks" Abel and Gil.  His university education in both oenology and viticulture, combined with his 23 years experience at the prestigious Penfolds Wines and a natural curiosity of all things, have led to an intimate understanding of the many factors that can influence creation of wine. The wines crafted at this small "BarossaVale" estate are a reflection of this accumulated knowledge, experience and natural curiosity.

"Gibbo" as he is affectionately known by his friends, has great allies in wife Anne, daughters Kelly and Kim and sons Adam & Abel in fashioning a unique small family business.

Everyone is ready to entertain at Cellar Door.  The hospitality is legendary!
