Tasting Note: Dark plum, garnet hues. Complex savoury spicy Shiraz fruit characters on the nose with subtle notes of spice , rosemary and clove. The palate is fine, firm and very complex and shows all the hall-marks of Shiraz with good oak maturation ,developing with age, to produce interesting vinosity and further ageing potential. This wine shows fine aroma, really harmonious balance of fruit, acidity and assuring dry tannins .The finish is firm and long leaving spicy dry notes of stone fruit . A robust style.
Vintage Comments: Early temperatures in October and November were well above average…enhancing rapid development. Mild dry ripening conditions later combined with low yields led to good varietal expression in Shiraz.
Making/Maturation: Small lot (0.5 – 1 tonne) open fermentation with daily plunging or rack & return. Maturation was 30 months in 70% French oak barrels (70% new). 30 % New American oak.
