With all these varietal wines showing unique characters, I just had to have a go at making a really vinous wine of similar weight but deeper complexity. It is the creative motivation for the famous “Minestrone Soup” we all know.
Early temperatures in October and December were well above average…enhancing rapid
development. January was mild thank goodness. Mild dry ripening conditions later combined with low yields which led to good varietal expression and strong early ripening.
The colour is rich red with brick notes. The Aroma is of sweet berries among many other things…pepper, rosemary, cherry, prosciutto……The palate is voluptuously Sophia Loren, filled with flavours of prune, sour cherry and herb with just a hint of oak. It lingers soft but lively….it awaits its partner…the famous Minestrone soup. This wine reflects the never-ending joy of "DISCOVERY".
